If you go too far when working on an idea, you can always turn it back. If you don’t go too far you will never know how good the idea could have been. And that is a waste.
It is often when you are far off topic that the most original flashes of inspiration come to you. Fragments of ideas that wouldn’t made any sense at all unless you had gone through the process of idea making that you just have.
And ideas doesn’t care if you are rude and immoral – even though your idea may be too extreme there might be ways to polish it so that you can keep the core of the idea while removing some of the parts that people would hunt you with a machete for.
